I'm with Julie and hate it. Sure, I do it on occasion when it's more convenient or when I really need to do some hill/incline training, but getting outside is way better to me. And forget the pavement--dirt and grass, you know, the soft stuff, is where it's at! We'll get you out running those trails at Tyler SP soon...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6368148773883062885.post-33064290324024329402008-09-25T11:46:00.000-05:002008-09-25T11:46:00.000-05:00That is so funny that you like the treadmill bette...That is so funny that you like the treadmill better because I HATE IT! I'd much rather hit the pavement! My friend and I ( she is also a trainer) were just talking about this the other day. We have been using the treadmill this past week to get a better gage on our pace time. The treadmill makes you stay at a constant pace. I have set a goal for my 1/2 marathon and in order to achieve it I must maintain a 10:20 pace. So we have used the treadmill this week to train. We set it a little higher than our goal pace and run 3 miles. WHEW! I hate it. I get so bored and want to quit. Transfer my run outside and I could go forever. :) We do all our long runs on Saturday mornings and those are always done outside. I have a Garmin 305 (which I could not run without) that allows me to track my pace and millage while I run outside. So the moral to this long story that makes no sense is run where you feel the most comfortable and your more likely to stick with it! :) This Saturday we are running 10 miles! Dec 6th is around the corner!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6368148773883062885.post-14373146043035563882008-09-24T22:53:00.000-05:002008-09-24T22:53:00.000-05:00I wondered the same thing about treadmill running,...I wondered the same thing about treadmill running, and was told by my trainer that it is easier because on the treadmill the ground is moving (obviously), and when your running w/o a treadmill, you have to push your body forward (w/o the treadmill doing it for you).

Treadmill = my friend!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
